How I Help When Things Go Wrong

As much as I love my career, there are some days that are easier to love than others. There are times when “If anything can go wrong , it will” when Travel Advisors have to put out fires, fix other people’s mistakes and battle unbelievably poor customer service issues. One of the most common questions we are asked by prospective clients is “WHY should I use a travel agent when I can just book my own trip online?” Well, here are three examples of why I would highly recommend utilizing the expertise of a Travel Advisor.

1. Recently I had clients who were traveling to Vancouver, Canada via Houston, Texas to catch an Alaskan cruise and tour and there was fear of a hurricane potentially impeding their on time arrival for the cruise. I was able to help them change their flights with very little notice. Although it took many phone calls by me I would rather be the one making the phones calls rather than them having to deal with it. I arranged an extra hotel night at a great property last minute so that they would be close to the cruise terminal. They were thrilled with the results.

2. Another fabulous client had an issue with a 'forgotten item' in the back seat of a private chauffeur driven tour vehicle that they had taken that day in Rome. They connected with me via text and I was able to reach the appropriate contact in order to arrange to get that very important item back to them before their departure the next day. They were greatly relieved and didn't have to be in worry mode for long based on this strong connection that I have with the international company that we were working with.

3. Generally speaking, some of the cruise lines both overcharge and don't necessarily have the best pre and post cruise options nor do they have the best excursion options. The excursion options are sometime overpriced, overcrowded and not the best choice. I'm able to provide other options from 3rd party, well regarded partners ensuring that the experience is the best for all clients.
